About the event
In honor of Women’s History Month, Writer/director Essence McDowell presents and discusses her documentary, Invisible Giants.
Chicago has been built by women the history books refused to name. Invisible Giants uplifts Black women's history, centering the Chicago voices confronting erasure and preserving untold stories across generations. The film explores what is lost when history goes untaught and what becomes possible when communities work to reclaim it. A documentary about memory, legacy, and the power of getting the record straight.
